With the new faces, we explained what we do and why. As each week progresses we find that the message is spreading with a handful of people waiting for our arrival . This week, we served freshly cooked pasta, prepared by volunteers just minutes before we attended our usual location to distribute. Our volunteers were able to visit key areas and provided meals to who individuals who were unable to come to us. Some visitors were concerned that during the colder months, we would not attend. This week our volunteers took time out to purchase supplies for the weeks ahead. The founding members of Swindon Sikh Seva Society all got together and donated funds which allowed us to purchase enough pasta, drinks etc to last for the several weeks. Although the nights are getting colder and darker, we are still seeing a positive response to our Seva. See more View on facebook 8 years ago Photos from Swindon Sikh Seva Society's post This evening's Seva was slightly different in choice, someone of our volunteers prepared vegetarian noodle stir fry with spring rolls. As per usual the meals were greatly received by those who required it with a total of 40+ meals served and distributed this evening. Additionally, we were able to provide baklava which was also consumed. We would especially like to thank our volunteers Simran and Harpal who took time out to freshly prepare these meals just before they were distributed. Additionally, today marks a special date, our weekly Seva has now be established for 6 months. We would like to thank all those people who have taken an interest, volunteered, provided donations and spread the message of Swindon Sikh Seva Society. On this windy evening we have just completed our weekly Seva of providing the homeless a hot meal. As per usual the response was positive with comments from certain individuals along of the lines of "you don't realise how much we appreciate this". This week we took time out and spoke to those who required a meal asking about where they will be over the colder winter months. We understand that some individuals will not want to come to our set location in fear that someone might take their area where they are staying. With this in mind, we are prepared to do food drops to those locations as we do each week. We met some individuals who were really struggling being homeless and it hit home how appreciated our Seva is.
