Busiest Seva yet

We have just returned from this weeks Seva and the response this week was overwhelming, by far one of the busiest Seva yet we served over 35 people this evening. To make a change from our normal hot meal, this week we offered chips with bread as well as our usual selections of drink, crisps and chocolates.

We were able to provide a hot meal to all those who required it and we were also able to provide drinks and crisps to others.

One of our volunteers spoke to an individual who required a meal, his feedback was extremely positive and showed our Seva is now starting get across the key principles of Sikhism.

The gentleman commented “I did not know who you guys were at first, we all thought “Asians”. A couple of weeks ago one of you guys, a Sikh guy came up to me and said do you want some food? I said yes. I thought he was going to throw half a burger at me or something. But he gave me pakoras (onion bhajis). Now I know you’re Sikhs. I was ignorant. I know who you are now. I have respect for you all”.

Feedback like the above inspires us to keep going each week and provide this Seva is greatly appreciated.
