Another Seva…

Today marked our 38th week of providing meals to the homeless and less fortunate.

This evening our team of volunteers set up at the usual location and were able to serve meals to 45+ individuals. Prepared by our volunteers shortly before distributing  we were able to provide a vegetarian roast dinner which included roasted potatoes, carrots, parsnips and vegetarian sausages with gravy. Additionally, we offered crisps, chocolates, cakes, hot tea and coffee.

We were also joined by a local Christian group this evening, Swindon Ward Young Men who helped serve the prepared meals and prepared the hot drinks.

We would like to thank all volunteers who helped this evening, a special thanks to Simran and Harpal who prepared this evenings hot meal.

Over the last week or so, we have seen reports of certain Gurdwaras (Sikh Temples) refusing to provide access to volunteers to prepare food for the homeless. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee at Swindon Gurdwara who have continue to provide us access to the kitchen each Wednesday to prepare the food.
