The cold weather and snow has been well documented over the last week on all news outlets, despite the freezing temperatures our Seva continued this evening. Typically we find in weather conditions like this, people will not come to visit us for a hot meal for the threat of not regaining the spot/area they had been staying in and this appeared to be the case this evening with very little visitors. This evening we offered fresh pizzas as the hot meal and additionally offered warm soup to bring up the temperatures of those who required it. With very little turn out this evening, we teamed up with Swindon Night Shelter and provided them the food that we had prepared. The Night Shelter served the food from temporary accommodation in the old walk in centre of Carfax Street. Our Seva will continue again next week on Wednesday at 7.00pm. ... See more View on facebook 7 years ago Seva continues. Keeping up with our weekly Seva and yesterday was no different. After a steady few weeks in regards to the number of people visiting we found yesterday to be no different. We offered Sholay (chickpea curry) with rice as our hot meal and as usual it was greatly received by those individuals who came to visit us. As well as the hotel meal, we offered water, canned drinks, crisps, chocolates and biscuits to those who needed it. We spoke to one individual who explained his circumstances and why he was homeless, he is stuck in a circle where he is reliant on alcohol and cannot obtain temporary housing. As such our Seva offers a meal where normally he would go hungry. We often hear each week how thankful these individuals are for our Seva and without our Seva they are unsure where the next meal would come from. As usual, we would like to thank everyone who has donated to our Seva with food and to the volunteers who continue to prepare hot meals on a weekly bases. ...
